Consulting
Separation statement. The Healthcare Pest Reference is maintained independently of the consulting practice described on this page. Engagement with the practice is not required to use the reference, and the reference does not change based on who is or is not a client.
The author of this reference, Trenton L. Frazer, Board Certified Entomologist (BCE #B3413), maintains a professional consulting practice, Frazer Applied Entomology. Through that practice he can be retained by hospitals, health systems, and other healthcare facilities for the work described below. The practice is national in scope. Engagements are fee-based.
The BCE credential is held by Mr. Frazer personally and is issued by the Entomological Society of America Certification Corporation. It can be verified on the ESACC roster. Frazer Applied Entomology is the practice through which he is retained; the credential is his, not the practice's.
What a Board Certified Entomologist Can Be Retained to Do
- Accreditation readiness assessment
- Review of a facility's pest management program against the accrediting body and regulatory authorities that apply to it, ahead of a survey.
- Deficiency and plan-of-correction support
- Assistance responding to a pest-related survey finding: establishing what the citation actually requires, what evidence closes it, and how the plan of correction should be written and documented.
- Pest program design review
- Independent review of an existing or proposed pest management program, contract, or vendor scope against the documentation the facility will be asked to produce.
- Entomologist of Record engagement
- An ongoing arrangement under which a named Board Certified Entomologist is responsible for the entomological basis of the facility's pest management program and available to its infection prevention, environmental services, and facilities leadership.
- Expert witness work
- Case review, opinion, and testimony in healthcare pest matters, for counsel on either side.
The practice also serves regulated and sensitive environments beyond healthcare where the same documentation discipline applies.
